About Peyton’s Inspirational Notes

The photo above says, “I love you” in Braille.

Peyton Sanchez is a 17-year-old boy from Alamosa, Colorado. He has faced many obstacles in his life which have shaped his positive perspective and allowed him to develop a sincere and enviable empathy for others. Peyton has neurofibromatosis (NF1) and is currently battling a brainstem tumor. He is legally blind and learned to read braille in his early elementary school years.

When Peyton wanted to offer notes to others, he noticed there weren’t any braille greeting card options for people with low vision in his community, so he set out to make handmade cards with greetings he thought would make others’ day. Peyton brailles each card greeting and his mom, Sheila, makes the card after they’ve discussed each card’s color and design. Peyton’s Inspirational Notes has a card stand at The Green Spot Garden Center & Antiques in his hometown, but also wanted to offer his cards to people outside of the San Luis Valley. Each card has been brailled by Peyton with his personalized messages, many of them inspirational quotes he uses to cope with living with a brain stem tumor.

Peyton is always helping others, in fact, he has become a local entrepreneur with his lemonade stand. He accepts donations in exchange for a cup of lemonade and all proceeds have been donated to charities of Peyton’s choice. Those charities include The Children’s Hospital of Colorado art therapy program, his local food bank, his local animal shelter, and the Ronald McDonald House Houston, where he stayed while he participated in a two-year clinical trial. He has also contributed to local scholarship funds, as well as Peyton’s Pay It Forward Scholarship at the local high school. He has also been known to use his personal savings to help others in need. He has donated over $20,000 to charity in his lifetime!

One dollar from every card sold will be donated to charity. Peyton thanks you for visiting his page and hopes you enjoy your one-of-a-kind braille greeting cards.

“Don’t think about the negative, focus on the positive!”
